Cairns Tourist Holding Reef Fish

Responsibilities

The person who signs the hire agreement form is in charge of the boat and responsible for its safety and condition.  Anyone can drive the boat under the care of the hirer, no licence is required to drive most of our boats. Any damage or loss to boat, engine, safety gear, fishing gear and other vessels is the responsibility of the hirer. The hirer is responsible for any infringements that may occur from taking undersized fish to drunk driving. If you do not have a boat licence and you are charged with drunk driving a boat they will take your driver’s licence.

Anchoring:

When anchoring your boat put plenty of rope out, 4 times the depth is a good rule of thumb.  When you retrieve the anchor wash it off in the water before pulling it on board and don’t lose it or cut it off unless you have to, a fee of $100 is charged for a lost anchor and chain. Do not under any circumstances drive off with the anchor down.

Littering:

Trinity Inlet is a precious and protected marine environment.  Like with all nature activities, we ask you to be conscious of the damage your actions may cause.

Security Deposit:

The purpose of a security deposit is to leave something of value that is a token of your integrity to comply with the rules of the hire and return the boat in good condition.  A debit card has no value and a drivers licence or visa card has limited value.  We will not force payment through the security deposit, but when you sign the hire form you are comitting to being financially responsible and liable for any damaged or missing items, including the boat, the engine, the fishing rods, anchors and tackle or damage to other vessels including the million dollar yacht you may have run into, and the legal costs of recovering those costs.  If you think our insurance will cover all your misadventures please don't hire our boats, as our insurance will not cover any of your misadventures.  You must cover it yourself as described in the hire agreement form.

Take only photos and leave only the wake of the boat.
